Kaun Banega Crorepati season 6 (KBC 6) has yet another winner on its show. Mumbai’s housewife Surmeet Kaur Sawhney won the whopping prize money of KBC’s 5 Crores, much to everyone’s delight.
An ideal example of a hardworking Indian woman, Surmeet Kaur is HSC qualified and gives tuitions at home to make ends meet.
Surmeet Kaur has been living in a rented apartment for many years with her family. She expressed her desire to host and veteran megastar Amitabh Bachchan, to buy the flat with part of the prize money if she ever won.
The 37 year old housewife hails from Punjab lives with her husband, who is a small time actor and two daughters.
Surmeet Kaur also becomes the first woman contestant to win the grand prize money of Rs. 5 Crores.
Before Surmeet Kaur, Harshavardhan Navate from KBC season 1 won Rs. 1 Crore while Sushil Kumar from KBC season 5 won Rs 5 Crores.
Surmeet Kaur has also expressed her desire to donate part of the money for prayer rituals.
The fact that she won Rs. 5 Crores sunk into her only when Amitabh Bachchan and her husband came and hugged her on her achievement.
