After numerous reports of major characters leaving the show one after another finally the producer of the show is fed up. According to the sources, Star Plus channel had given the producer ultimatum to convince Barun Sobti aka ASR (Arnav Singh Raizada) to stay in the show two months ago. Unfortunately Barun was keen on pursuing Bollywood career, so had made clear to the producers he will be leaving the show 3 months back.
After Akash & Payal, the supporting cast left the show, the makers had not much option left but focusing more on the pivotal characters but the final blow was the central character “Arnav” no more interested in staying in the small screen anymore. He has already completed shooting for “Main Aur Mr.Right” where he plays one of the male leads in the movie.
Sources close to him also claim that he has been getting some good offers to play supporting role alongside of stars like Saif & Akshay. With all those prospective offers, continuing Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon was tough job for him. The makers even confirmed they have been shooting some episodes with body double. They even shot some episodes with just Barun at his convenience and were later merged with other scenes to make it look like a sequence. But failing to convince Barun and very tiresome editing job to meet deadline for weekdays telecast has caused the makers to finally bring the curtain down abruptly.
When contacted the writer of the show Ved Raj who confirmed the news. He said despondently, “It was a great and challenging experience writing the show. I’m feeling empty and sad. The show is just ending abruptly.”
