I&B Ministry of India asks TAM to defer release of data.



TAM Data Which Was Expected To Release Today For Week 50 (9th Dec-15th Dec) ,Now Has Been Postponed   Till Tomorrow Or Friday. TAM Data Has Been Deferred Since Last 9 Weeks , Starting From Week 41 -49 , 7th October Onward ,Due To Joint Decision By Three Bodies Of India IBF, AAAI & ISA.
The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has asked the TV viewership monitoring agency,TAM, to delay the release of TV ratings data after the news channels’ request.
Here Is The Official Message From TAM This Morning,
Message Dated 19th Dec 2012 : “At the request of I&B Ministry, Govt. of India, and in concurrence with IBF, AAAI & ISA, we are delaying the data release to Thursday / Friday. The reason for doing so is that the Govt. of India has requested us to withhold release of News channels data by two or three days. The industry is meeting with the ministry to take a decision. Thank you for your cooperation.”
As the industry bodies – IBF, AAAI and ISA – are yet to meet, it may be a while before the final decision on the date for release of data is announced.
Earlier, News Broadcasters Association (NBA) had written to TAM suggesting that news channels’ viewership data should be delayed till the second phase of digitisation, i.e. March 31, 2013.
