Nothing seems to be going right for Star Plus' Mujhse Kuchh Kehti.. Yeh Khamoshiyaan (produced by Thought Train Entertainment and Trilogy Krikos), and their dipping TRPs speak volumes of the various issues that the show addresses of late. We all know that Mohit Sehgal, the lead of the show went through payment issues recently, due to which he had stopped shooting. After this came the major setback with Mohit Sehgal declaring ‘out of the blue’ that he has quit Khamoshiyaan owing to health problems. Well, whatever the reason may be, the fact is that the show has already lost a big name.
What lies ahead for the soap? Well, our inside source reveals that there is more problem ahead, as the other lead of the show Manit Joura has now put down his papers and has given the makers a time period of two months ( 31 March 2013 will be his last date) after which he will not be available for the show.
So what is it that is bothering the male leads of Khamoshiyaan? Our source stresses on the fact that both the men, Mohit Sehgal and Manit Joura have got a raw deal. Both of them waited for as many as ten months for the show to take off, and when it really began, there was not much to do for them. In the case of Mohit, our source says that his character was side-lined initially in order to build on the main track. And when the ratings revealed that the tracks were not working, the creative team took a drastic step of butchering the other lead Manit's character by turning him into an obsessive lover. Hence the two main characters of the show were handled badly, which is one of the main reasons for the show's failure.
We tried contacting Manit Joura to know his version, but the actor remained unavailable even after many attempts.
Producer Sai Deodhar (Thought Train Entertainment) however went on the defensive and said, "The story was always planned to go this way. Garv-Gauri marriage was always on the cards, but we were planning to play around with the character of Sid too, which is not possible now with Mohit quitting."
When asked whether creative difference was the main reason for Sehgal's exit, she stated, "Poor guy, Mohit was very ill. He wanted to go on with the shoot, and we also kept in regular touch with Sanaya Irani (Mohit’s belle) regarding Mohit's health issue. At the end of the day, it was an amicable decision to let go off Mohit."
So what's planned in the track ahead, we asked her. "We are proceeding towards Garv-Gauri wedding. Garv's family will enter soon which will comprise of his mother, brother and sister-in-law. This new family will be completely different from the Bhonsle's and will add to the humour quotient of the show."
On asked whether Mohit Sehgal's comeback can be initiated at some point in the story line, Sai said, "Mohit is not coming back as of now. However, nothing is impossible on television and we might play upon a love triangle later on, you never know."
Sai who is presently working on the creative changes in the show held a positive approach and said, "As an actress, I believe in a never-say die approach and we are working really hard."
Lastly we asked her whether Manit too has put down his papers, and she immediately hit back, "I have no clue about this."
Oh well, it is indeed a do-or-die time for Khamoshiyaan now.
