Satyamev Jayate - Aamir Khan’s debut show Satyamev Jayate on Star Plus has broken all records in the history of Indian Television. The first season of the show premiered on 6th May 2012 and marked the television debut of popular Bollywood actor and filmmaker Aamir Khan. Satyamev Jayate received an overwhelming positive response and feedback from both the critics as well as the public. The show was widely appreciated by several film and television personalities, politicians and social activists for its research, format, presentation and content. The show highlighted sensitive social issues prevalent in India such as female foeticides, child sexual abuse, dowry, medical malpractice, honor killings, insensitivity towards the physically disabled, domestic violence, overuse of pesticides leading to pesticide poisoning, alcoholism, untouchability, plight of senior citizens and water crisis. To add more, Ram Sampat’s musical compositions at the end of every episode heightened the viewing experience for audiences.
Devon Ke Dev Mahadev- Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev is a Hindu spiritual television drama series which airs on Life OK channel. It premiered on 18 December 2011 and showcases the story of Lord Shiva, also called as Mahadev. This mythological show on Shiva has glued viewers of all ages to their TV screen. The episode of 9 September 2012, featuring Kali killing the demon Raktabija earned the highest TRP ever of the show since 2011. As per TAM ratings, this special episode of the show recorded a 8.2 TVR.
Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon- Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? is an Indian soap opera which premièred on June 6, 2011 on the TV channel Star Plus. The show consistently maintained a position as one of the top ten daily dramas on Indian general enterteinment channels throughout its first year on air and developed a large international fan base. Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani’s chemistry on the show is what made Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon popular! Sanaya and Barun have won the Best Jodi award at several award functions including the People’s Choice Awards India, going on to prove that actors can be bigger than their shows. Due to the departure of lead actor Barun Sobti from the project, the series was ended prematurely on November 30, 2012.

Diya Aur Bati Hum - For months in a row, Diya Aur Baati Hum topped the TRP charts and continues to rule the hearts of the audiences. The show premiered on 29 August 2011 and has been a TRP topper for the past consecutive 10 months. Diya Aur Baati Hum is the story of Sooraj (Anas Rashid) and Sandhya’s (Deepika Singh) unique circumstances and their growing love story on the show has struck gold with viewers. Bade Achhe Lagte Hain is a popular Indian television drama series that premiered on May 30, 2011 on Sony Entertainment Television India. The show became one of the most watched show of 2011 and has also made Sony Entertainment Television India number 2 GEC. Bade Achhe Lagte Hain bagged Sakshi Tanwar and Ram Kapoor their first Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award. The show has till date won six Indian Television Academy Awards, three Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Awards, five Indian Telly Awards, three FICCI Frames Excellence Honours, three People’s Choice Awards and several other prestigious awards, all including several categories.
Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon- Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon is an Indian television series that started airing on Colors TV from 28th May, 2012 as a tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema. With a huge star cast boasting of popular names like Vivian D’Sena and Drashti Dhami, Raj Zutshi, Raza Murad, Rakhi Vijan and the late AK Hangal, Madhubala may not boast of high TRPS but the treatment and of course Drashti and Vivian’s huge fan following has made it one of the top shows of 2012. Madhubala is a story of a girl born on the sets of a Bollywood film who grows up to be mesmerizingly beautiful. Gumrah- End of Innocence- Gumrah End Of Innocence is an Indian crime television series that started airing from March 11, 2012 on Channel V . The show presents crime related incidents committed by young people. The series is created by Vikas Gupta and is hosted by Karan Kundra. Due to the good reception, season two was also launched with great pomp and show and with its success, season three will hit the TV screens soon. The Show won Best Crime/Thriller Show at 12th Indian Television Academy Awards. The Show was also nominated as Best Crime Drama at 2012 People’s Choice Awards India.
Na Bole Tum Na Meine Kuch Kaha- Na Bole Tum… Na Maine Kuch Kaha is one show that makes a comeback with season two because of the show’s popularity. Na Bole Tum… Na Maine Kuch Kaha is an Indian soap opera which is currently being aired on the Hindi entertainment channel Colors TV. It replaced Bigg Boss (Season 5). The show went on air from 9 January 2012. The show aired it’s last episode in October 2012. Although Na Bole Tum Na Meine Kuch Kaha was not an instant hit and took a while to build up, debutant actress Aakanksha Singh and fellow co-star Kunal Karan Kapoor managed to create a stir with their onscreen chemistry. The storyline and the entire cast and crew, especially the two children- Ashnoor Kaur and Vishesh Bansal added to the show’s charm. When Na Bole ended in October (2012), fans went crazy demanding that the show should not go off air & the production company plans to come back with season 2 in January 2013.
Amrit manthan - Amrit Manthan is a daily soap opera currently airing on Life OK; it premiered on February 26, 2012. Amrit Manthan is the unsual story of two sisters Amrit & Nimrit, and how their bond gets sour in wake of circumstances. Amrit the elder sister is brought up as the Royal Heir to an almost losing royalty and is a mirror personality to her grandmother, the Rajmata. She believes marriage is the only opportunity that can salvage their losing royalty. Whereas Nimrit is just the opposite, she does not take her lineage too seriously, and thinks from her heart rather than her head. Sister’s who were the best of friends ever, what would have gone between them that they have become the worst of enemies.
Punar Vivah - Punar Vivah is an Indian soap opera that airs on Zee TV. It premiered on 20th February 2012. The show is currently the second most popular show of Zee TV, the first being Pavitra Rishta. The show receives tough competition from Balaji Telefilms’ Bade Achhe Lagte Hain which airs on Sony TV at the same time. Punar Vivah is the story of two individuals, Aarti (Kratika Sengar) and Yash (Gurmeet Chaudhary), set in the Indian city of Bhopal in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Aarti is a divorcee with a son, Ansh. Yash is a widower with two daughters, Payal and Palak. It has been four years since Aarti’s husband left her. Yash’s wife, Arpita, died three years ago. Aarti’s in-laws and Yash’s family want them to get married. Thus the story revolves around their life after their Punar Vivah (remarriage).
Dil Se Di Dua…Saubhagyavati Bhav? Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava? is a psychological thriller show that airs on Life OK. It premiered on December 18, 2011 and airs every Monday to Friday at 10.00 pm & becomes the one of the best show of 2012. It is the story of the struggle of a young woman named Jhanvi (Sriti Jha), who married an over-possessive and mentally imbalanced husband called Viraj Dobriyal (Karanvir Bohra) who was also a rich buisness man of the city. Karanvir Bohra won the Most Popular Actor In A Negative Role in 11th Indian Telly Awards, Best Actor In A Negative Role (Critics) in5th Boroplus Gold Awards & Best Actor In A Negative Role (Jury) in 12th Indian Television Academy Awards.
