Barun Bashers Please understand that it is NOT easy for anyone, to let go of a job that got them fame, money, financial stability and opened the door for them to explore new opportunities! No one in their right mind would let go of such an opportunity! Survival is not easy in the TV or Film industry, there are many actors who have the film/financial/family backing in the industry but yet they are struggling to make a name for themselves. I am sure Barun knows this. He also knows that not many from TV have made it big in films. I have read a previous interview of his where when asked: Question: "What does being on television mean?"
His reply: "Television is my bread and butter."
Question: "Most TV actors either take a break or don't get good roles in serials once their shows end. Do you feel lucky to have bagged another show just when your current project (Baat Humari Pakki Hai) is ending?
His reply: "I wanted to take a break as shooting for a daily serial is taxing. But I also realize that now is the time to work hard and I would be foolish to let go of such an opportunity."
Question: "So, is he going the Bollywood way?"
His reply: "Nothing like that. As long as I keep getting good projects in TV or in films, I'll keep working in them. I don't plan to quit television,"
No one, in their right mind would let go of something unless there is a STRONG reason behind it. People are stating that Barun has left due to film offers, please, anyone who is calculative would've waited to their film to release before walking out of a top show creating negative publicity for themselves before their movie came out! Why would he want to kill half his fan base? Would anybody in their right mind not have wanted ALL their fans to go watch their movie so that it has a chance of being successful?
My heart went out to him when, in separate interviews with Noreen Khan, I heard him state "We'll see how many fans I have left after this show" & "I thought people will smash me (he said this in his interview after the SPL event)". He is aware that there are thousands of people who are bashing him, saying negative things but still he is sticking to his ground. Why would any person who is career minded make such a move and create negativity about himself. Why would be deliberately sabotage his career? Don't you think he is aware that there would be thousands out there calling him unprofessional and selfish? Yet he is sticking to his ground.
He has NOT, at any stage, blamed anybody for the decision, even though he could have easily done so. He has never spoken ill of the PH, even though it is common news that the PH has had issues with the star cast of their previous show (the character of Dev in Geet had also left as he was unhappy with his role, there were rumours of Dhrasti & Gurmeet quitting too) AND they have had issues with the cast of this show as well (Daljeet, Abhas, Akshay & Deepali and mind you it was the director Lalit Mohan who himself left the show much earlier than the cast and came back at a later stage, along with the creatives & writers of the show who have constantly been replaced).
Barun has not spoken ill of Star Plus either, even though they have used him to pull in the crowd at the SPL event, and then outrightly blamed him in yesterday's telecast of the show. I refuse to believe that SP had not decided that they are going to pull the show off air, even now that they are, it is because of fans refusing to watch the show without Barun, not because Barun is quitting. They have never shut down their show because the lead has quit, if that was the case then their legendary "Kyunki Saas bhi Bahu" wouldn't have lasted that long and their current "Saath Nibhana" would have also been off air.
Barun has not blamed the writers or creatives even though they have gone on a holiday ever since they gave us tracks that introduced characters like bubbly, writers who could have come up with beautiful side tracks for our second lead Akaash & Payal but instead they chose to chuck things like Payal asking Buaji for help to woo Akaash at the audience! I do not think he has kept quiet because of guilt that he is at fault, rather because he is loyal, he understands that these are the people who have made him what he is today and this is the least he can do, take the flack on his face in return. I refuse to believe that he is unprofessional and not loyal. A guy who started working at the age of 16 to support his family, and married the girl who he started seeing when he was in school after he had entered the entertainment industry (The industry where he is surrounded by beautiful ladies, many of whom might have been interested in him, and in this day and age there are not many guys out there who do not believe in having fun!) This tells me that this guy KNOWS the meaning of commitment and loyalty! He would never hurt anybody, let alone people who love him, his fans, intentionally!
A lot of people have the issue that why did he not make his status clear and state that he is quitting? Do you even understand his condition, he has already stepped up and made enemies with the PH / SP and fans. After the shameless act of SP yesterday, there is no doubt that SP would have put pressure on him to keep his mouth shut until they make their decision. He was left with no option because the PH and SP were going to use him as the scapegoat. Had he spoken his mind, which he wouldn't have because of the type of person he is, the PH would have no cover for their mistakes, and Star Plus obviously is still doing business with the PH with their show Arjun so they cannot exactly break ties with them, neither can they blame the audience for the harassment which they are receiving from viewers regarding the show. So who is left to blame?? They cannot blame the other star cast as nobody cares about their departure, so their only saving grace was to blame Barun!
Lastly, for those who blame him for breaking the trust and hearts of millions! My dear darlings, did he ask you to place trust in him? Did he beg you for your love? He simply was passionate about his job, and he did that very well. He is there to entertain you BUT if you choose to make him a part of your life, it is your fault for becoming so involved with a person who does not know that you exist! He had never promised you that the show will go on forever, he had never said that he will be going against his own wishes to proove to you that he is loyal. So please stop blaming him for your trust and heart issues as he definately is not blaming his so-called fans for not supporting him or being disloyal or for calling him other names. He is not blaming anybody!
Learn to respect him & his decisions!
